SEASCAPE SIMPLICITY, EAST SUSSEX / KENT, UK
16th - 18th October 2020
Deposit $385 USD
Day 1 - We will meet in Eastbourne at 12.00pm and check-in to the local accommodation. A team lunch in central Eastbourne will give me the opportunity to run through the full itinerary of this long exposure workshop and allow others to get to know each other. After lunch we head to the coast where we start the process of shooting with Neutral Density filters and both instructors will offer invaluable advice in achieving the best results. We will explore 2-3 locations close to base and finish the day with a sunset shoot as Eastbourne Pier.
Day 2 - An early start at Camber Sands should offer some excellent morning light which will add texture to the rippled sandy beach and majestic dunes that flank the beach front. We will continue to search for compositions around Rye Harbour and Winchelsea Beach and prior to lunch head to Dungeness to explore the famous fishing boats. After Fish and Chips in Eastbourne and dependant on time, we will then head to Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters to catch the afternoon sun on those famous white cliffs finishing at 4pm.
Day 3 - We start the final day at the famous Brighton Beach and hope for some spectacular morning light. We then make our way along the coast heading East towards New Haven, Coastguard Cottages and The Seven Sisters. All these locations are almost designed for long exposure photography and offer a multitude of compositions. If we're lucky, we might get some heavy seas at New Haven! We head back to base for a pub lunch and end the day with an editing masterclass, that will include - editing styles, processing, sharpening techniques, cloning and the opportunity to talk through Julien and Anthony's edit styles.
